Cristina Ramos Derqui, de 1º Bach A, nos explica los intercambios en inglés

ARE YOU GOING TO MISS THEM?

My name is Cristina, It´s been six years since I started studying at Virgen de la Caridad and, as I´ve been to several countries thanks to this high school, I would like to encourage everyone to join these experiences, which really worth it. In Virgen de la Caridad, you can have the great choice of travelling abroad with your classmates, learn several languages and get to know about other countries’ culture. Each exchange trip is carried out for students of different ages. It consists in going to a foreign country for a week and staying at a native house. During the two weeks you’re together, both here and there, you’ll go on programmed trips to different places often visiting the most important cities you’re near to. You’ll also visit the high school where your correspondents attend lessons and enjoy some free time with each one’s family.

Here are some photos of me and my classmates, who recently went to Italy and really enjoyed the experience:

There are different destinations depending on the grade you study:

1. ENGLAND:

This exchange is organised for students in yeas 4 and 6. These classmates travel to Orsmkirk, a town between Manchester and Liverpool, It’s a very cool experience and, in my opinion, the most useful trip, as it gives you the chance of improving your English skills. People there are very polite and funny. In addition, Liverpool is a very beautiful city, as well as Chester, a middle-age city that participants of this exchange can also visit.

2.           FRANCE:

If you love speaking French and you’re a 3rd grade student, this is you exchange. If you don´t know so much French do not worry, I’m sure you’ll learn a lot there. French people are pleasant and very nice. I roundly recommend this trip, as you can visit the amazing city of Paris. If you go there, you’ll have several days to go sightseeing and visit Le Champs Elysees, Montmartre and, obviously, the Eiffel Tower and the Arch of Triumph. In fact, you can go to Disneyland Paris and enjoy all day long at this theme park.

3.           ITALY:

Is there any place better than Italy to know about Italian culture? This exchange is programmed for people of 5th grade, who travel to Montepulcciano, a small city in the middle of the Tuscany with stunning views to the most beautiful landscapes, I couldn´t choose the best thing of this trip. Everything from the food to the nice Italian people is pleasant. You might know that pasta, pizza and ice cream are best made in Italy. But also, you may know that Italian people are very similar to Spanish ones, so living there you will feel like at home. You should join this experience, you won´t regret visiting Florence and Siena, both spectacular cities set on Italian Renaissance art.
